Matching panel

Day 347

You would think that after the first panel, you would feel ready for matching panel. If anything though, when Bill and June got to matching panel they felt this was the hardest part yet. Questions were no longer about them, their home, etc, but focussed on their relationship with Sprout, how they would raise Sprout, how they would address parts of theirbackground with them etc. All for a child they had metjust once for less than a hour.

However all the questions came from a good place, and like before, they had them in advance so they had opportunity to stop and consider them. It was a tough call, but needles to say the result was what everyonewanted to the match was approved.

Day 348

Following matching panel a plan for transitions was formed. Transitions were to take place over a week, starting at Day 358, with a plan move in date of Day 365. The plan was to start with Bill and June going to spend time with Sprout at the foster carers, getting to know their routine and gradually build up the time they spent caring for sprout indepently. The final two days were planned to be Bill and June caring for Sprout in their home, and the final day, day 365, sprout would move in.

The next few days leading up to the start of transitions felt like an eternity, but the wait would be worth it.
